Jellico High School
Class of 1968
Pictures from Jim Osborne

Following are pictures that Jim was kind enough to share with our class.  Below the pictures are comments that he included with the pictures concerning his and his Dad's trip to Washington and their visit to the Vietnam, and the WWII Memorial.  Be sure to read and remember!

"My dad is a World War II veteran.  On May 15, I was allowed to accompany him on a trip to Washington  D.C. with a bus load of WWII veterans to visit the WWII memorial.  Dad was awarded three purple hearts while in the Army.  This was quite an opportunity to spend time with my Dad."

"This was my first trip to DC since 1965 when I visited the Capital with the Upward Bound group from Knoxville College.  Fanny Kellogg and 4 other Jellico High School students were in that group.  The new memorials were the Marines, US Air Force, Korean War, Vietnam, and now the WWII Memorial."

"My daughter had taken a piece of paper and rubbed over the names of Lonnie Gibson and Arlie (Pete) Spencer for me from the Vietnam Memorial wall.  This trip, I had the opportunity to look them up myself.  I am attaching pictures of their names on the wall for anyone that has not had the opportunity to see them.  I must say it is a humbling feeling and experience to be in the presence of the names and spirits of the men that paid the price of freedom for all of us.  These two men were my friends as with most of you."
